2nd Lt Leo J. Poladian graduated from Southwestern High School. He attended Detroit Institute of Technology.

The plane broke up in mid-air after it collided with another aircraft. Lt Poladian didn´t bail out, he did not have his chute on. He was found in the nose section and that´s where the other plane hit A/C 42-110025. His body was badly torn up.

Lt Poladian was initially buried at the cemetery Wehlfriedhof Hameln on 10 May 1944.
