Pfc Walter A. Modzel enlisted in Rochester, New York on 24 November 1941 and was transferred to a paratrooper unit in 1943. He attended Benjamin Franklin High School and went overseas in May, 1944.He was first buried at American War Cemetery Molenhoek, the Netherlands on 2 October 1944, B-8-155.
