Pfc Jack P. Cottone worked in a factory for transportation equipment before he enlisted in New York City, New York on 29 October 1942.

Pfc Cottone was last seen when he entered a building in the area of Merzenich, Germany. The building was hit by a bomb. He never came out of that building and his remains were never found.
