S/Sgt Louis F Ahr III graduated from Woodlawn High School. He was employed by the Kenmore plant of Curtis Wright Co."I was flying tail gunner on ship 188, at 5 minutes before the IP, number 4 engine had smoke coming from the top and was feathered right away. At this time, 028 fell back and lost about 5,000 feet of altitude. Just before the 028 went to the side of the target, it was still dropping back. Louis F. Ahr's chute did not open."
