More information

Pfc Victor S. Villalobos worked in a warehouse before he enlisted in Los Angeles, California on 21 August 1942.

He was taken prisoner on 6 June 1944 when his unit was located in the vicinity of Vierville, France.

He was wounded during an Allied air raid on the city of Halle, Germany on 31 March 1945 and died a day later. The raid was very big and most of the city was demolished, resulting in more than 20,000 casualties. For weeks the dead were taken out of the buildings and buried in wooden boxes without any regard to nationality. Investigation after the war couldn't locate his grave.
