Pfc Charles J. Hajek Jr enlisted on 12 February 1943 at New York.During his descent, Pfc Hajek's parachute became entangled in a tree and he was shot.
He was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Molenhoek, near Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
His brother-in-law, James R. Hickey, is buried at Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial.
