Pvt Alvin E. Trenholme attended Durfee High School before he enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 14 March 1944. He trained at Fort McClellan, Alabama and Fort Jackson, South Carolina before he was sent overseas in October 1944.
He was reported wounded in action of a gunshot wound. The exact date when he was reported wounded and the location where he died, is not known.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand Failly, France.
