Pfc Marc Ross graduated from Cleveland Heights High school in 1943.

He joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio on 23 July 1943. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program (A.S.T.P.) and studied at the University of Kentucky.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
