Pfc Pete Randazzo worked in the machine shop of the Erie Railroad before he enlisted in Erie, Pennsylvania on 9 December 1942. he was sent overseas in August 1944.

One round of enemy artillery fell in the vicinity of 203 anti-tank mines, causing several to explode. 9 men were killed and three were wounded.

Pfc Randazzo was killed when his body was crushed by the blast.
