More information
T/4 Edward T. Christensen worked on a farm before he enlisted in Kalamazoo, Michigan on 22 January 1941.He was part of a small group, fighting a rear guard action to cover a withdrawal. Stubbornly holding his position until actually overrun by the enemy, he assisted gallantly in checking the German attack, thus permitting his company to withdraw in good order to its original position. For this action, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal posthumously.
He was killed by small arms fire to his stomach.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Molenhoek, the Netherlands.
He is buried next to his brother George.
