More information
Marvin Trandem's father immigrated from Norway. He was last seen in the woods 0.5 miles north of St Vith, Belgium on 23 December 1944 during the defense of St Vith. During an enemy artillery barrage, his tank was knocked out and the crew had to dismount. The enemy counter-attacked and infiltrated through the lines, took the ground on which the tanks of the company were located. The whereabouts of the crew were therefore unknown.
He was officially declared dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.
