Barney W. Gregg was born as William Arnold Gregg. He married Frances Marian Frank on 21 May 1937 in Council Bluffs in Iowa.At the time of his marriage he was a mechanic.
He was sent overseas in June 1944.
Cpl Gregg was initially buried in an isolated grave near Neerkant, in the Netherlands and reburied at Margraten on 30 August 1948.
