Pvt Theodore W. Erdman attended the rural schools in Mosel and following his marriage to Ethel Mae Metzger, Manitowoc, on Oct. 27, 1928 at Haven, came to Sheboygan to make his home. He was employed as a deliveryman at the H. C. Prange company for 17 years, and prior to his induction was an employe of the Curt Joa company, Sheboygan Falls. He was an active member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church in the town of Mosel.

Pvt Erdman was inducted into the Army on Dec. 23, 1943, and upon completion of basic and advanced training at Fort Knox, Ky., Camp Campbell, Ky., and Fort Meade, Md., left for overseas service in July 1944. After an additional month of instruction in England, he joined Allied armies in Holland. He was killed in action there one month later while participating in battle with an armored division of the 23rd infantry.
