2nd Lt Richard P. Hartman attended college for one year before he joined the Air Corps of the U.S. Army Reserve in Peoria, Illinois on 10 October 1942.Capt George B. Sweeney:
“Two aircraft of the fourth squadron were observed to go down in flames, observation of what happened to other aircraft was not possible as the group continued, minus last squadron, to target. The largest number of chutes observed in the area of enemy attacks were three.”
