More information

S/Sgt Harold W. Garlick attended high school for 4 years and was a machinist before he volunteered for the US Army in Newark, New Jersey on 9 September 1942.

2nd Lt. Leonard E. Cox:

At approximately 1318 hours plane No. 42-31425 left the formation and I saw two men leave the plane immediately. One chute opened but never could see other chute open. Ship kept losing altitude but was evidently under control. Kept losing altitude until it crashed at 1340 hours into a mountain. I did not observe any other chutes leave the plane but it was very possible for anyone that was not injured to have gotten out of the plane.

He did not have time to bail out. His remains were never recovered.
