Pvt Alfred E. Chrzanowski was an attendant at a filling station and was also employed at the Todd Shipyards before he enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 17 November 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
