2nd Lt George E. Healy left Rochester with an anti-aircraft unit in February, 1941 and was transferred to another similar unit in Newfoundland in 1942. He started training as a navigator in March, 1943 at Selman Field, Monroe, La., and was sent overseas in June. A graduate of Aquinas Institute and a Cornell University student, he was connected with Erskine Healy Inc. Prior to his entering the service.His aircraft was hit by flak in wing, causing fire.
