Pfc Arthur Strange attended high school for three years and joined the Regular Army at Pope Field, North Carolina on 7 March 1939.

He was officially declared dead one day and one year after he was reported missing in action.

Pfc Strange is remembered at Sunnydale Cemetery in Wise County, Virginia with a memorial marker.
