Pvt Gerald F. Baker graduated from Monroe High School. He was employed by the Delco Appliance Division of General Motors Corporation.

He enlisted in Rochester, New York on 17 June 1942 and was overseas in January 1944. He was stationed in England until 31 January 1944.
