S/Sgt Marshall J. Murray was employed as a frame spinner at Moniteau Mills.He enlisted on 29 October 1942 at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.
Statement of 2nd Lt Richard Paquette, Co-pilot:
"On leaving target, plane left formation and approximately 10 minutes later was struck in tail and waist by six bursts of flak, causing fire in tail. On climbing into waist, I found Sgt Murray Lying on ball turret apparently dead".
The plane crashed in the outskirts of Brussels, Belgium. German air force officers verified that S/Sgt Murray was thrown clear of wreckage and having been given a military burial in Brussels city cemetery.
