Blair Williams enlisted on 3 February 1941 at Des Moines, Iowa and was sent overseas in August 1943.He was reported wounded in action on 25 July 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.
His tank was hit by enemy fire. He was killed, together with his crew members 1st Lt Frank X. Mc Williams, Pvt James P. Greene Jr. and T/5 Orville D. Jones who are also buried at Margraten.
