1st Lt Frank X. Mc Williams graduated from Lincoln High School in 1934 where he was on the swim team and was in the Stamp Club. He also graduated from Marshall Law School in New Jersey and was a lawyer in Arlington.

He enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 14 May 1941.

He was married to Jane Wiersching on 2 January 1942.

He was sent overseas in August 1944.

The couple had an infant son, Francis Xavier, Jr. who died on 16 October 1944.

According to the After Action Report, Lt Mc Williams was killed on 22 November when his tank was hit by enemy fire. He was wounded in action and died the same day. This date can be confirmed, since his crew members Pvt James P. Greene Jr., T/5 Orville D. Jones and T/4 Blair W. Williams are all listed as killed in action on 22 November. These men are also buried at Margraten.
