More information

Harry G. Bower volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 9 October 1942.

The airplane was hit by flak and, after limping to the Danish coast escorted by friendly fighters, wisely judged that he could not make it back to England and made for Sweden.

S/Sgt Bower drowned in a lake.
