Pfc Eric H. Lobel was born in Germany to parents who were US Citizens.He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School in January,1941.
Since the end of the war, the Miramar Yacht Club has held a memorial race and/or regatta in Pfc Lobel's honor.
A scholarship was named in his honor at his high school following the war.
