Sgt Bernard W. Foer graduated from New Jersey State Teachers College in 1931 where he was on the staff of the school's Montclair Quarterly. He was working as a teacher when he entered the service. He enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 10 July 1942.He died just after the armistice in WW II in an accidential encounter with a mine field in Holland.
