Pfc Earl E. Pander attended high school for three years.

He enlisted in Erie, Pennsylvania on 11 March 1943 and joined his unit on 7 July 1944.

He was lightly wounded in action on 19 July 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time. After recovering he rejoined his unit on 30 December 1944.

It is not certain on which date exactly Pfc Pander was wounded in action again and were he died of his wounds.
Pfc Pander was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Fosse, Belgium.
