T/Sgt Thomas J. Mc Lynch attended college for one year and was a driver.

He enlisted in Providence, Rhode Island, on 14 October 1942.

He was promoted to Techical Sergeant on 15 July 1944. On 17 for July he was lightly wounded in action and returned to duty the same day. The next day, however, he was severely wounded in action and transferred to the 32nd Evacuation Hospital. For these two wounds he was awarded the Purple Heart two times.

On 4 December 1944, he rejoined his unit.
