Vernon Lippert graduated from Verona High School, where he was prominent in athletics.He trained at Camp Fannin, Texas, Butler University, Indiana and Camp Breckenridge, Kentucky and was sent overseas in October 1944.
He was initially buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Foy, Belgium.
