Pfc Jack P. Wainey graduated from Glenville High School in 1941 and was employed at Thompson Aircraft Company

He enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 17 April 1943.

Jack's father died of a sudden heart attack on 28 December 1944 without knowing his son had died. His mother found out, several days later.
