The airplane started having engine trouble and lost #1 and #2 engines and had to salvo bombs just before reaching the target. Soon after they were hit by flak and lost #4 engine so they turned and headed for Yugoslavia. They were throwing stuff over to lighten the ship but were still losing altitude after flying for 30 minutes. The pilot gave the order to bail out and they landed near St. Michael, Austria and the entire crew was captured soon after landing.
