John M. Teegarden graduated from Albany High School and from from Cornell University in 1941.

He initially volunteered for the Royal Canadian Air Force.

The airplane was hit by flak and crashed at 13.00 h., killing two French civilians.

Capt Teegarden is remembered with a memorial marker at Paradox Cemetery in Severance, Essex County, New York.
