Reports indicate that Pvt Theriot was part of a group of twelve men of C Company who were in an assault boat which was crossing the Roer river. The craft was sujected to enemy machine gun fire, which caused it to sink.Pvt Theriot is remembered at the Saint Eloi Cemetery in Bayou Dularge, Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.
