Robert O'Horo graduated from Ursuline High School and attended Detroit University.He enlisted on 3 April 1943. He was selected for the Army Specialized Training Program for which he was sent to Virginia Polytechnical Institute. When the program was disbanded, he was transferred to the infantry.
