T/Sgt Robert P. Hudson graduated from of Erasmus High School. He attended Brooklyn College.He enlisted 15 October 1941 at Camp Upton, New York.
The aircraft was hit by a direct flak hit and exploded in the air not long after it was hit.
Three crew members survived because they were blown out of the aircraft.
"It is believed that the Navigator, Co-Pilot and myself made a succesfull parachute jump because we all had on Back type chutes that day, whereas the others had on chest packs and were unable to put them on in time".
Statement of Captain James E Curtis:
"Nose turret was blown off by a direct flak hit, Technical Sergeant Hudson did not get out of the turret".
Statement of Lieutenant Emmet J Moore:
He was first buried on 7 January 1944 at the Northern Cemetery of Glueckstadt.
