S T A T E M E N TI, JOHN O. ROBSON, Staff Sergeant, 19005788, 758th Bomb Sq, 459th Bombardment Group (Hv), state that on 15 April 1944, while flying on a combat mission over Bucharest, Rumania, I noticed a plane that I think was that flown by Captain Barfield drop out of "A" Flight as somebody in our crew reported that a plane was dropping out of that flight. We had already made the bomb run and had started to rally right when I noticed this ship and saw that they had dropped their bombs while the rest of us had not. After they dropped their bombs they continued straight ahead and did not at any time rally right as the rest of the planes did. It did not seem that the plane was in an apparent trouble but seemed to be losing altitude slightly. I was at my station in the tail turret of my plane in "E" Flight and I watched this plane until it disappeared but at the time I last saw it it seemed to be well under control and losing altitude only slightly. This is all I know of this incident.
