More information

Bertram Chaiet enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and transferred to the Royal Air Force. He was later transferred to the U.S. Army Air Corps but stayed detached to the RAF.

They had just attacked a V-1 construction site when they were hit by flak and collided with another aircraft. In fact, the details are unclear. Likely, they survived the collision and were limping back to England, but both planes were subsequently hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed.

All crew members of both airplanes, four in total, were killed.
