T/Sgt Eastman G. Fisher volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States on 26 May 1943.Although an American, T/Sgt Eastman served with 156 Squadron of the Royal Air Force.
The airplane was intercepted and shot down by Luftwaffe night fighter ace Manfred Meurer of 3./NJG1. This was his 46th kill.
The entire crew of seven men was killed.
T/Sgt Eastman was initially buried at the Rheinberg War Cemetery where the other crew members still rest.
