Chester P. Zmarzley enlisted in Allentown, Pennsylvania on 21 September 1942.

He was wounded in action a first time on 16 July 1944 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time. After recovering he rejoined his unit.

The exact date on which he was wounded a second time is not known. Also the exact location is unknown.
