More information
1st Lt Donovan D. Siverts worked as a manager at the local Morris Theater.Statement of 1st Lt Lawrence D. Wood, who flew in the same mission: “I was leading the second element of Capt O'Brien's flight, when he led an attack on 20 plus FW 190s and broke up their formation. When I went after a FW 190, Lt Siverts was on my wing, slightly back in trail. After I shot the 190 down, I couldn't find Lt Siverts anywhere around. I called him, but got no answer. I did, however, see two white parachutes descending, neither of which could have been the pilot of the FW 190 I shot down.”
Lt Siverts was initially buried at the cemetery for Allied soldiers in Deurne, Belgium.
