Pfc Bond attended Springfield Township High School.

He was sent overseas in November 1944.

He was reported serioulsy wounded in action in the vicinity of Marl, Germany, when he was driving a jeep.

"This is a beautiful country," added Pfc Bond in his last letter to his parents. "But I wouldn't trade all of it for one little corner of Lakemore," he added.
