Pfc Bond attended Springfield Township High School.He was sent overseas in November 1944.
He was reported serioulsy wounded in action in the vicinity of Marl, Germany, when he was driving a jeep.
"This is a beautiful country," added Pfc Bond in his last letter to his parents. "But I wouldn't trade all of it for one little corner of Lakemore," he added.
