More information
Edward P. Lee, Jr attended Clemson University.Statement of 1st Lt Homer M. Engelhorn, who flew in the same mission: "I was flying Red #3 on the fifth mission on 8 June 1944. We were strafing an armored convoy about 6 miles east of Montdidier, France at approximately 1900 hours. After the second pass, I pulled up to the right and over to my left I saw Lt Lee's airplane in a climb on fire with a lot of flame coming out. It fell into a stall and did about a full spin and hit the ground about a quarter of a mile south of the convoy we were strafing, and exploded. We pulled up and set course for home."
