Pfc David W. Ferguson entered the service in Providence, Rhode Island on 23 November 1942.
Ozark Division. He was killed in Germany near Linnich, Rur river, while establishing the bridgehead across the river. Before entering the army, he was a travelling geological surveyor. He went overseas in September, 1944.
His mother was Marie Ferguson, born in Belfast, Ireland.

His brother T/5 Roland Ashley Brown also was killed in action. He was initially buried at the American War Cemetery Henri-Chapelle in Belgium but was returned to the United States in 1950 and buried at the National Cemetery in Raleigh, North Carolina. His brother seaman 1c Benjamin Brown served in the Pacific.
