Sgt Paul J. Hirner enlisted in Elmhurst, New York on 3 April 1941. He attended high school for 4 years and was a shoemaker before he enlisted.He was killed by artillery fire in the evening of 28 February 1945. After his death, he was buried in the temporary American Military Cemetery in Margraten, the Netherlands, in Block N, Row 6, Grave 127.
