More information

Pfc Armand R. Beauchamp graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1938 and from Harden-Simmons University, where he majored in history. He was a former HSU tennis player and a member of the celebrated H-S Cowboy band, playing the cornet.

He enlisted at Fort Bliss, Texas on 22 August 1942.

On 15 september 1943 he arrived in Liverpool, Great Britain After more training he was participated in the D-Day landings.

He was killed in action when a mortar round scored a near direct hit on his foxhole during the night of 6 to 7 October 1944.
