S/Sgt Charles R. Barry immigrated to the United States on 26 February 1925.He enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 30 March 1943.
He became a US citizen on 15 June 1943.
He joined his unit from replacement depot on 9 August 1944 and was seriously wounded in action on 1 September 1944. He was promoted to S/Sgt on 3 December 1944.
