Pvt Stacey W. Smith was employed at the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Co.

He was married to Isabelle Stobert on 3 May 1940.

He enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvanina on 7 January 1944, was sent overseas in July 1944 and joined his unit from a replacement depot on 9 August 1944.

Pvt Smith was reported seriously wounded in action on 14 October 1944 and died a day later.
