More information

2nd Lt Thomas E. Yandoh graduated from Fulton High School in 1939. He was employed at the PCK Company.

We were flying on the left wing of A/C no. 470, piloted by Lt. Monroe. About 2 miles SE of Brussels, Belgium, at 2030 hours, and at 21,000 feet altitude, we saw A/C no. 470 receive a direct hit from flak. The right wing caught fire, exploded and blew off. The aircraft went spinning down and the fuselage broke in two. Just as the aircraft entered the undercast, the fire went out. No parachutes were seen to open.

Lt. Thomas E. Yandor died in a War-Hospital II 614 A and was buried on Eagle Cemetery Brussels, Grave no. 1, Section 10, Row 21.
