Pvt Arne Andersen's family lived in Norway.

He enlisted in New York City, New York on 10 May 1943. He still had the Norwegian nationality at the time of his enlistment.

He was killed by small arms fire to the head.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Fosse, Belgium. He was disinterred on 11 August 1948 and transported to Henri-Chapelle, where he was given his final resting place on 3 December 1948.
