T/4 Robert T. Pyle graduated from Graham High School, Bluefield, Virginia.

He enlisted in Roanoke, Virginia on 9 April 1941 and received his training in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, California and Texas. He had been overseas for 15 months.

He died of a gunshot wound to the head in the 128th Evacuation Hospital.
