Pfc Charles M. Alexander graduated from Lilbourn High School in 1940 and was employed at National Broach and Machine Company.

He was wounded by artillery shell fragments to the back on 7 June 1944 which earned him the Purple Heart. He was treated with penicillin and released to duty.
